Section 24 of the Income Tax Act
Under this section, you can claim deduction of up to ₹200,000 on the interest paid towards a home loan. For properties that are rented out, there is no limit on amount of deduction.

Section 80C of the Income Tax Act
You can get a maximum of ₹1,50,000 deduction from the income, on repayment of principal amount of the property loan (home loan) during a financial year. Stamp duty, registration fee or other such expenses paid for the purpose of transfer of such residential property to the individual is also considered under this amount.
